Homer WisePublished Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Homer Lee Wise, to some he was called Lump, a name given to him by his mom, because she called him Sugar Lump, 60, of Richmond, Calif., formerly of Emmet, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Calif. He was born on Sept. 15, 1947, to Judge Wise and the late Nellie Warren Wise. He found employment with the General Motors. Homer accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the St. Thomas Baptist Church of Prescott, during the early years of his life. He attended and was a graduate of Blevins Training School Class of 1965. After graduation, he moved to California. He united with the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. A.H. Newman was the pastor at that time. Homer was a people person and enjoyed being around people. We will cherish the memories of his love and laughter, and the caring and good times shared together forever. Home was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; two sisters; one brother and his mother. He leaves to cherish his memory in Arkansas, his father, Judge Wise of Emmet; one sister, Stella M. Scoggins and Charlie of Hope; a God brother, Ernest Monk and Arlene of Blevins; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 22, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel of Prescott. The burial was in Elizabeth Cemetery in Hempstead County. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. The family received friends Monday, July 21, from 6-7 p.m., during a quiet hour at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
