Leonard House

Mr. Leonard Everette House, 89, of Prescott, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008, in Little Rock, Ark. He was born to Joseph W. and Tennie Raines House in Prescott, Ark., on November 6, 1918. He was a local farmer, meat-cutter and meat-market manager from the former Taylor Brothers in Prescott and Austin Capps, I.G.A, in Gurdon. He attended Piney Grove Assembly of God, Gurdon Assembly of God and Prescott Assembly of God Churches. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II having received both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He enjoyed painting, wood carving, playing guitar and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; by two brothers, George W. And James Lafayette House; by one sister, Ruthie White Jones; Nephews, Joe Herman, Thomas and Frank White and Teddy House.

His survivors include his wife of almost 71 years, Faye Holder House of Prescott; one son, Sammy House and Kay of Little Rock; one daughter, Lonnie Moore and Leon of Grand Blanc, Mich.; one sister, Chloe Orren of Prescott; four grandchildren, Michael Moore and Denise, Lisa Warner, Jason House, and Lauren House; three great-grandchildren, Carson and Carter Moore and Isabella Warner and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Friday, July 18, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel of Prescott, with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. The burial was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Family received friends Thursday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott and on Friday, July 18, TRFfrom noon-2 p.m. prior to the service.
