Frances GoffPublished Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneFrances Martin Goff, 84, a native of Nevada County, and a longtime resident of Tulsa, Okla., died Friday, July 11, in Tulsa. Born in Prescott in 1923 to Willie and Edna Purtle Martin, Frances was the second child and only daughter of the couple. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Goff and her brothers, Willard and Robert Jake Martin. Frances was a longtime volunteer at Oxley Nature Center in Tulsa, as well as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and provided service to her nation as Rosie the Riveter during World War II. She provided service to her community as an election precinct inspector. Frances was happier outside than inside. A trait she inherited from her mother and passed on to her children. She loved nature and the outdoors. She loved her pets, family and friends dearly. Frances is survived by one daughter, Linda Russell and husband Larry of Broken Bow, Okla.; one son, Joel Goff of Tulsa, Okla.; and one granddaughter, Susan Russell of Salina, Kans. The grave side service was held Monday, July 14, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Masonic Garden, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Bow, Okla.
