Opal Talley

Opal Isabell Easley Talley, 78, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 at her residence in Seagraves.

Visitation was Sunday, June 8, at 1-8 p.m. Services were Monday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Seagraves with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Burial was in Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves.

Mrs. Talley was born on May 27, 1930 in Beirne, to Connie and Bell Easley. She graduated from Gurdon High School and then attended Isabell Powell Beauty College. She received her license in 1961. She moved from Gurdon to Seagraves in 1952.

Opal married Raymond Edward Talley in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 8, 1970. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Home demonstration Club, Rebeccas and Seagraves Art Association. Her hobbies were sewing, painting, arts and crafts, and her flower garden. She particularly enjoyed Christmas when everyone was home and Hammonds/Easleys reunions. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seagraves.

One of Opals favorite songs was Moonriver. She enjoyed many different types of music.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Raymond Talley of the home; two sons, David Alan Wilson and wife Judy of Seagraves and Dennis Neal Wilson and his wife Larinda of Reseda, Calif.; one daughter, Karen Kim Wilson Murphy of Fort Worth; two step-daughters, Dana Cheek and husband R.C of Smyer, Texas and Paula Kennedy and husband Eric of Calgary, Canada; one brother, Jimmy Easley of Missouri and two sisters, Mae Randles of Bay City, Texas and Lois Kleim of Nemo, Texas; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and five step-grandchildren. Special thanks to Leisha Cole.

She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Howard.
