Chloe Hugg

Mrs. Chloe Brooks Hugg, 89, of Van Buren, formerly of Blevins, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Peachtree Hospice in Fort Smith.

She was a loving and caring daughter, mother and mamaw. She will be remembered forever for her devotion to her family, her sewing, wonderful cooking, and known for her great beauty throughout her life. We will all miss this precious lady until we meet her again in heaven. She was born April 12, 1919, in Blevins to Ira and Esther White Brooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Bells Chapel Church of the Nazarene of Blevins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dallas Hugg; two brothers, Arlis and Dale Brooks; one sister, Mozelle Steed; and one great-grandson, Blake McMahen.

Her survivors include three sons, Norman Hugg of Hot Springs, Donald Hugg of Paris, Texas and Larry Hugg of Blevins; two daughters, Carol Hines of Little Rock and Janice Salisbury of Van Buren; one brothers, Hollis Elvin Brooks of Richmond, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four nieces; four nephews, and a host of friends and family.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 1 at Bells Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Blevins, Rev. Wayne Bell officiating. The burial was in Marlbrook Cemetery in Blevins. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

Visitation was Saturday, May 31, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
