Festival show includes local talent and groupsPublished Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe annual Chicken and Egg Festival, slated for June 6 and 7, will include a line up of eight local singers and groups. The festival will kick off Friday night with a variety show in the Prescott City Park. Slated for the event are: The Mark Keith Band at 5:30 p.m.; Jerry Wicker at 6 p.m.; Tammy and Delanie Fogle at 6:30 p.m.; The Four As at 7 p.m.; Cass Martin and Trish Oliver at 7:15 p.m.; Megan Estes at 7:30 p.m.; the CBC Youth Group at 8 p.m.; and Tim Pollock wrapping up the show with his performance beginning at 8:30 p.m. The show will coincide with the Rotary Clubs Chicken in the Rough dinner, served Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. in the park. Those who plan to stay for the entertainment should bring their own lawn chairs. There is no admission fee. Saturdays events will kick off with a Kiwanis pancake breakfast served 7:30-9:30 a.m. in the park. The balloon lift-off will be at 9:30 a.m. Hula hoopers should gather at 10:30 at the festival stage for the hula hoop contest and the jump roping contest will begin at 11 a.m. The egg toss is slated for 11:30 with the cackling and crowing contests set to begin at noon. A Bunco tournament will begin at 1 p.m. with the turbo chick races to begin at 1:30. Little Mr. Rooster and Little Miss Hen contests will be at 3 p.m. And of course, the golden egg hunt will be part of the days events beginning at 10 with clues handed out until someone finds the treasure.
