Rufus Millard Wilson

Rufus Millard Wilson, age 79, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence in Seagraves, Texas.

Services were held Monday, May 12, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Seagraves with Rev. Bill Oliver officiating and Dr. Nick Wilson assisting. Burial followed in Gaines County Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, May 11, from 1-8 p.m.

Rufus was born on Sept. 6, 1928, to John Hiram and Zena Fagan Wilson in Okolona. He attended school in Red Springs and went to high school in Gurdon.

On Nov. 14, 1975, he married Wilma Ester Dunson in Seminole, Texas. He was a Baptist. Rufus was also a mason.

Rufus is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the home; two sons, David Wilson and his wife Judy, of Seagraves, and Dennis Wilson and his wife Larinda, of Reseda, Calif.; one daughter, Kim Murphy of Fort Worth, Texas, and one step-daughter, Betty Grace Patton and her husband Boyd, of Houston, Texas; one brother, Kenneth Wilson and his wife Arlene, of Arkadelphia; and one sister, Irene Leamons of Winterhaven, Calif. He also leaves nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rufus will not only be missed by his family, but also by his many, many friends.
