Willie Mae WoodPublished Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Willie Mae Wood, 80, of Prescott, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Prescott Manor Nursing Center. She was born on June 23, 1927, in Hoxie, to Malvern Butler Elmore and Opal Ann Bettis Elmore. She was a homemaker, mother and former telephone switchboard operator. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Prescott and a member of Redland Extension Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wood; four brothers, Harold, Robert, Ralph and Ford Elmore; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Southerland, and one grandson, Christopher Michael Inscore. Her survivors include one son, Roy Wood and Eva of Gurdon; four daughters, Roxie Ann Reel and Sam, Roberta Inscore and Wally, and Rolanda Linda Kisselburg and Virgle, all of Prescott, and Vickey Hicks and James of Bodcaw; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Ricky Burke officiating. The burial was in Liberty Cemetery in Redland Community in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. The family received friends Tuesday, May 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
