Mr. Stevie L. Dean Jr., 18, of Hope, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

He was born on Jan. 29, 1990, in Texarkana, Texas, to Steven Lynn Dean Sr. and Erika Jamile Warren Dean. He was employed with James Pafford and a former waiter with Dos Locos Gringos and Shebas Restaurant. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Hope. He was a former Bobcat football member of the 2005 ninth grade State Championship Team.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ernie Lansdown and James Dean; maternal grandfather, Erik Warren; maternal grandfather, John Henry Carlton; and two great aunts, Brenda Carlton Banks and Joy Carlton Chandler.

His survivors include his daughter, Kailey Ann Mercier Dean of Hope; his father, Steven L. Dean Sr. and Wanda Woods Dean of Hope; his mother, ErikaWarren and Michael Adkins of Dallas, Texas; his step-mothers, Stephanie Dean of Hope and Allison Wall and Wendell of Emmet; seven brothers, Christopher Hicks, Justin Dean, Wyatt Dean, and Jeremy Fortner, all of Hope, Darrell Dean of Prescott, Aaron McBride of Springhill, La., and Cody Wall of Emmet; two sisters, Rachel Marsh and John of Prescott and Ashley Woods of Hope; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Lansdown, maternal grandmother, Jamie Prince and Paul of Bodcaw, and maternal great-grandmother, Pearl Carlton of Bodcaw.

The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, at First Assembly of God Church of Hope, with Revs. Bobby Ragan and Jerry Thomas officiating. The burial was in Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

The family received friends Tuesday, May 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
