Linda Pearl Almond Racanello, 85, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Laneburg, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Arlington, Texas.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1923 in Prescott, to Hollis Obediah and Roberta Mae Almond. She worked as an accountant in the Showboat and Hotel in Greenwich, Conn.

Linda, who as a young girl was known as Pearl, left Prescott and briefly lived in San Francisco, during World War II, where she met her husband, Anthony Racanello. Together they moved to Port Chester, N. Y., and raised their family there. Later they retired together to Dania, Fla. She spent most of her recent years on Arlington, Texas, where she attended Calvery Baptist Church and was an active member of that congregation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Harlan Othar Son Almond; and four sisters, Leota Honey, Neita Bailey, Geneva Barham and Matty Wesson.

Her survivors include three daughters, Diane Seller of Port Chester, New York, Judy Zimmerman of Irving, Texas, and Roslyn Racanello of Mechanicsville, Md.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Laneburg Baptist Church in Laneburg, with Rev. Arlis East officiating. The burial was in Laneburg Cemetery in Laneburg. Arrangements were by Brazzle/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
