Jesse Pete Jones

Jesse Royce Pete Jones, went home to be with his Lord May1, 2008.

He was born in Nevada County, Sept. 14, 1944. Pete was a graduate of Laneburg High School and attended Southern State College and was a member of the Arkansas National Guard. He was reared in the Forest Hill Baptist Church and later joined the Union Baptist Church of Bodcaw. He worked as service manager in the poultry industry before funding and operating Petes Chick Service. After retiring, he spent several years perfecting his medicating invention.

Jesse Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and May Jones and a son, Greg Jones.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Long Jones; a daughter, Melanie and husband, Billy Jo Arnette of Emmet; two grandchildren, Alex Peek of Emmet and Jessica Jones of Pittsburg, Texas; two step-grandsons, Stephen and Timothy Arnett of Emmet; five sisters and their spouses, Shirley and Bobby Joslin of Haynesville, La., LaJuan and Johnny Thompson of Washington, Ruth and Clovis Hicks of Emmet, Margaret and Buddy McKamie of Emmet, and Katie Sue Long of League City, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Friday, May 2, at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home between 6-8 p.m. Chapel service was Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. in Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Brown officiating, interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
