Mr. Hugh Franklin Ward, 84, of Hope, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.

He died Sunday, May 4, at his home. He was born on August 15, 1923, in Rosston, to Johnny Marshall and Bessie Inez Lewis Ward. He was a truck driver and farmer. He was a member of Union Baptist Church of Bodcaw and an Air Force Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sheila Jean Adams and one brother, Harold Ward.

His survivors include his wife of 61 years, Eula Elizabeth Dixon Ward of Hope; one son, Rev. Mike Ward and Mona of Spring Hill; one daughter, Elizabeth Ward Lewis and Bill of Hope; two brothers, Denver Ward of Hope and Ray Ward of Bodcaw; three sisters, Verlene Cole of Buckner, Trudie Dillard of Bodcaw and Dorothy Jackson of Waldo; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, at Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw, with Revs. Joe Brown and Mike Ward officiating. The burial will be in Union Cemetery in Bodcaw.

Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

The family received friends Tuesday, May 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
