Larry Wimberly JrPublished Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in the Gurdon TimesLarry Wimberly Jr. age 38 of Gurdon, went to be with his Saviour on April 29, 2008. He was born August 19, 1969, in Waxahachie, Texas, the son of Larry Dewain and Hazel Lavonne Runyan Wimberly Sr. He was an employee of Georgia Pacific Lumber Company and attended the First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife, Regina Purifoy Wimberly; one daughter, Elizabeth Wimberly of the home; one son, Josh Purifoy also of the home; his parents, Larry Dewain and Lavonne Wimberly of Corning; four brothers, Charles, Michael and Paul Wimberly all of Jonesboro and David Wimberly of Corning. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, in the First Assembly of God Church in Gurdon with Brother Bernard Escalanti officiating with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery near Gurdon. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Saturday in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Childrens Home, 2325 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
