Alice BunchPublished Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in the Gurdon TimesAlice Bunch, 88, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in Jonesboro. Born at Pleasant Plains, Mrs. Bunch lived most of her life in northeast Arkansas with her husband, Rev. Carl Bunch, who was pastor at several Southern Baptist churches before becoming Director of Missions for Mt. Zion Baptist Association. Carl and Alice served the Association for 27 1/2 years. They later moved to Mt. Ida and served 12 years as Director of Missions for Caddo Baptist Association. Mrs. Bunch was active in Baptist work throughout her life and served on the Executive Board of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention for six years. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Rev. Carl Bunch of the home; six children; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and one great, great granddaughter. Services were held in First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, where she was a member. Lasting memorials may be sent to Mt. Zion Baptist Associational Camp, 2100 Stadium Blvd., Jonesboro, AR 72401.
