Just a ThoughtJim FarrisPublished Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in the Gurdon Times It is the stormy season again in Arkansas and this is a good time to talk about the storms of life. We all have them and much like the weather, our storms come in different types and waves. Sometimes the storm is not that bad and sometimes the governor or president comes because it is so bad. We must remember that no matter how bad the storm may get, the Lord is always with us through our storms. In the worst part of the storm, when things seem to be the worst, we must resist the urge to give up or run away. Stories have been told of storm victims that tried to outrun or flee from a storm and it cost them dearly. Jesus said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Trust the One who calms the storm to also calm you, in the darkest hour, in the heat of the battle, in the eye of the storm - He is right there with you. My sister Dianne, lives in southern Missouri and a couple of weeks ago her and my brother-in-law's dairy farm was hit by a tornado. My niece and nephew were barely in the house when the storm hit and totaled the truck they had just left. Dianne told me later that when they got into the hallway of the house and were all together that she felt a presence around them and knew everything was going to be alright. God is completely aware of our storms, whether they are actual storms or the troubles of life. "Trust in the Lord" is more than a scripture, it is the only way to get through what we are going through. Life is not fair and often times even when we have done everything the best way we know how - POW!! Major trouble! Hold on tight, determine to never let go of the hand of God and then share your testimony wherever you can. It's just a thought . . .but it could change your life.
