After a three-up, three-down top of the first inning for the Knights, the Devils responded with an outfield fly, only to be caught by a Knight outfielder. Sophomore Kyle Orsburn walked to first, allowing sophomore Drew Griffin to hit a double and run him home. Sophomore Adam Clark and freshman Jared Shaver both walked, leaving the bases loaded. Freshman Austin Robbins struck out. With the Knights catcher fumbling for a dropped pitch to senior Zack Duncan, Griffin stole home. Duncan struck out. In the second inning, a Knight grounded the ball in the infield, only to find Go-Devil freshman first baseman J.L. Lockwood waiting on him with the baseball.
