William McMillanPublished Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in the Gurdon TimesWilliam McMillan, age 83, of Arkadelphia died Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Arkadelphia. He was born July 6, 1924 in Gurdon, the son of the late Charlie and Mary Hattie Gates McMillan. He retired from Reynolds Metals Co. and farmed cattle most all his life. He was a charter member of the Oakland RCI, member of the Cattlemans Association, served on the Clark County Fair Board and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. William was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Marbury McMillan; his sister, Charlene McMillan; a grandson, Jason Scott McMillan; and his stepmother, Duena Gates McMillan. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie McMillan; three daughters: Mary Beth Golden (David) of Arkadelphia, Marsha Lynn Smith (Wayne) of Magnet Cove, and Paula Golden (Danny) of Arkadelphia; three sons: Donnie McMillan of Marshall, Mo., Ronnie McMillan (Shirley) and Tommy McMillan (Donna) of Arkadelphia; three sisters: Martha Nan Lockwood and Anna Beth Burroughs of Hot Springs, and Wilma Ruth Holford of Monticello; one brother, Eddie McMillan of Arkadelphia; eight grandchildren: Aaron, Corey, Scott, and Paul McMillan, Chris Golden, Amber Hicks, Autumn Leach, and Michele Golden; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Bro. Stan Escalante and Dr. Scott Jackson officiating, with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers were his five grandsons and two great-grandsons.
