Much has been said and written concerning plans for an Arkadelphia festival of some sort. Some of those in charge of planning a festival have been chided because of their lack of consideration for other Clark County events already established.

Whether their plans were just not well thought out or if there is a deliberate effort to exclude other events is not clear at this point; however, time will surely reveal their intent.

The Caddo River Art Guild was organized in January 2007 and set each years date for their Round About Artist Studio Tour on the third weekend in October. This year the event falls on Oct. 17, 18 and 19. The guild is looking for artists for this years tour and for guild members who are not artists but are interested in the monthly activities. One does not have to be an artist to join the guild.

This letter is to the citizens of Gurdon and the surrounding area. We welcome your participation. The art tour needs to extend to the Gurdon area. For more information please contact any guild member.

Sincerely,

Farrell Ford, President of Caddo River Art Guild.
