Community NewsJerine HatleyPublished Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in the Gurdon Times The officers and members of Eastern Star Baptist Church of Smithton will celebrate the 16th pastors anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. Marshall Allen on April 13 at 3 p.m. Special guest will be St. John Baptist Church of Bluff City with pastor and speaker Rev. James Fred Williams. Everyone and all churches are welcome. The Hatley Family Reunion will host their monthly meeting on April 7 at 6 p.m. at the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where Rev. W. M. Colbert is pastor. All family members are urged to attend because serious things need to be completed. Thank you from the Hatley head members. The officers and members of Mt. Friendship Baptist Church of Curtis invite you to the 43rd anniversary celebration of their pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Louis Jones, on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guest is Gennesaret Baptist Church of Arkadelphia, Rev. Charles Hood pastor, and speaker, Rev. Louis Jones, pastor. A wedding ceremony was held on March 22 at 5:30 p.m. at East Texas Conference Center in Marshall, Texas, uniting bride and groom Niko and Antione Gatlin. The wedding ceremony was conducted by pastor Rev. William Colbert of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Attending were the grooms mother and father, Paul and Ruby Gatlin, granddad, Uthel Sam Bell, Uncle Sammie Lee Bell, Aunt Minister Bessie Rogers, Sister Whitney Gatlin, her friends Tashia Poltins Harper and his friends and Jerine Hatley, all of Gurdon, cousin Amanda and Michel Purifoy of Prescott, other relatives and friends of Texas, his uncle Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Hawthorne of Arkadelphia. Erica Hatley Gary, his daughter La La, his friend Maria and her sister of Marshall, Texas, visited his parents, Rev. Jewel and Marsha Danner and nephew Devin Edwards, brothers Tirrell Hatley and son, Terrence Giles and daughter, other aunts, uncles, close relatives and friends. They have returned home to Texas. Minister Chris Williams will be the guest speaker at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville on April 6 at the 11 a.m. worship service. A musical program will be held at Pleasant Grove, Antoine/Okolona, on April 19 at 6 p.m. Rev. Rufus Hatley is pastor. A Teen Scream concert will be held on April 26 at 7 p.m. at Haynes Chapel Baptist Church at Hope. Various young people will be participating. Rev. Frankie Mitchell is pastor.
