Louis Ellis Rhodes

Mrs. Louis Ellis Rhodes, 80, of Caney,

passed away Monday, March 17, 2008, at

Cristus St. Michaels Health System in

Texarkana, Texas.

She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Sutton to

Arlis and Pearl Jordan Ellis.

She was a homemaker and farmed most of

her life. She was a member of Morris Baptist

Church of Caney. She was preceded in death by

her husband, Howard Rhodes; one brother,

Shorty Ellis; and by one great-grandson, Tyler

Gourley.

She is survived by three sons, Ellis Rhodes

of Laneburg, Mike Rhodes and Jo Ann of Hot

Springs, and Bill Rhodes and Marcia of Caney;

two special sons, Pat Polk of Cabot and Howard

White of Dallas, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Beth

Ellis and Helen Jordan, both of Prescott; six

grandchildren, Christy Gourley and Wayne and

Brandon Rhodes and Shelly, all of Caney, Mark

Rhodes and Kayla Taylor and Jeff, all of Cale,

Jay Rhodes and Jennifer of Hot Springs, and

Madi Rhodes of Little Rock; and eight greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday,

March 20, at Morris Baptist Church in Caney

with the Revs. Tal Webb and Sam Tamburo officiating.

Burial followed in Caney Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral

Home of Prescott.

The family received friends Wednesday,

March 19, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The
