Abram LoePublished Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneAbram Hickman Loe, 81, of Mountain Home, died March 5, 2008 in Mountain Home. He was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Laneburg (Nevada County) to William Benjamin and Edith Blanche Carol Loe. Mr. Loe attended A and M Southern State at Magnolia from 1948-1952, and he attended East Texas State A and M, Commerce, Texas from 1955 until graduating in 1957. Mr. Loe was a former member of Kelso Baptist Church where he served as deacon until he moved to Mountain Home and became a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He also served as a deacon and he was a member of Delta Baptist Association Board. He retired from the Delta School after teaching for 27 years, and he was a member of the Arkansas Teachers Association. He was also a retired farmer and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and five brothers. His survivors include his loving wife, Mary Jane McEntire Loe of Mountain Home; two daughters, Serina Loe Gilbreath and Paul of Dallas, Texas and Tonay Loe Smith of Mountain Home; three brothers, W.B. Jr. and Ann Loe of Camden, Ardell Loe of El Dorado and Ottis and Joy Loe of McCaskill; two sisters, Sidney Steed of Prescott and Ellen Dougan of White Hall; seven wonderful grandchildren, Holly L. Beard of Mountain Home, Taylor M. and Shana M. Chancellor of Dallas, Texas, Jakee G. Smith of Mountain Home, Rachel G. and David and Sarah Gilbreath, all of Dallas, Texas and Christina Flynn of Mountain Home. The funeral service was held Saturday, March 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Kelso Baptist Church with Revs. Terry Sayers and Paul Gilbreath officiating followed by a private interment in Jefferson Cemetery. A memorial service was held Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Arrangements were by Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas.
