Easter Bunny is featured guestBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in the Nevada County Picayune The Easter Bunny is headed to Prescott and hell be making his stop at the Nevada County Fairgrounds as part of the 14th annual Easter egg hunt. The event is slated for the Saturday before Easter, March 22, beginning at 9 a.m. According to Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Director Mary Godwin, volunteers will be hiding about 2,200 eggs with golden eggs that will earn prizes such as stuffed animals. An additional 400 eggs will contain prizes, including candy. The egg hunt begins at 9 a.m. when children age 2 years and under will be allowed to begin their search. Children aged 3 and 4 will be hunting at 10:30 a.m., 5 to 7-year-olds will begin at 11 a.m. and children aged 8 through 10 will start at 11:30 a.m. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be an array of crafts and games. Godwin said several of the traditional favorites will be featured including face painting, the chance to make an Easter card and the popular balloon man sponsored by the Artesian Arts League. The Easter Bunny will be on hand and pictures will be for sale by the chamber for $2 each. Children may sit on the bunnys lap for free and there is no charge for any of the events. Everyone who attends is asked to bring a canned food item. Godwin said donations will be given to the food bank recently opened in Prescott. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
