Rosston

It's depressing to write Rosston news, because it seems that all there is to report is sickness and death.

The Caldwells, Darrel and Esther, were both buried on Wednesday morning. Our pastor, Bro. Petie Ward, had the service at our church and graveside service too. They were buried in Holly Springs Cemetery. We dearly loved both of them and they will surely be missed by Rosston neighbors and friends. I had done Esther's hair for years. They appreciated all the food that was carried to their house, prayers, flowers and every act of kindness. Their grandchildren, Little Darrel, Kenneth and Judy buddied with all the kids in Rosston every summer while they were growing up and visiting Darrel and Esther.

We extend sympathy to the Donnie Pipkins family. His funeral was Thursday. I knew Ruth Ann and Neldevin, but not the rest of the family.

Roscoe's uncle, J.P. Hart, was found dead in his home on Friday. Funeral was today (Sunday) at Bluff Springs Church with burial there. Pastor Bro. Height and Bro. Jimmy Hart, J.P.'s nephew of Serepta, La., officiated. Rhonda Langston did the special singing. They appreciated every act of kindness that was shown during this time of sorrow. J.P. was the last of the Hart boys. He was very special to all the nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by Rosston and Bluff Springs. Sympathy goes to Betty Ann, Richard, Stephanie, Martin, Chris and Jeremy and the many relatives.

Our guests this week were Jimmy and Booie Williams on Tuesday night and on Wednesday Rhonda May Morgan had lunch with us after the Caldwells' funeral.

Bill and Pat Lusby were our guests on Wednesday night. Pat had to go to the foot doctor in Texarkana and had a brace put on her foot. She broke a bone. It's some better today.

I went to the foot doctor in Hope on Monday and got stitches out. My foot is still swollen some, but it hasn't had a chance with all the sickness and death.

Irena Hawkins is recuperating at home, but sill not able to be "up and out." Continue to pray for her.

Johnnie Wallraven remains in ICU in Wadley at Texarkana. They are trying to get him in condition for heart surgery.

Helen Herring is in the heart hospital in Little Rock awaiting heart surgery. Both of these need our prayers.

Harold Wise's father passed away in Benton this morning. Harold is A.B. and Maxine Luck's son-in-law and the report is no funeral arrangements as yet, because they had five deaths there last night.

Nadine Dillard Wortman is spending a few days at her vacation home here getting some work done. She was a guest in church Sunday.
