James Jim HardeePublished Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneJames E. Jim Hardee, 64, of Hope, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Medical Park Hospital. He was born on Feb. 15, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Jesse James and Ida Belle Moore Hardee. He was a self-employed businessman and partnership investor and electrician with Hardee Electric Co. He was a member of DeAnn United Methodist Church in DeAnn. He was a member of the Prescott Country Club, Double Bogey Club, and Hillarosa Hunting Club. He was a Navy Veteran. His survivors include his wife of 38 years, Joan Wilt Hardee of DeAnn; one son, Scott Hardee and Raelyn of Hope; one daughter, Tami Davis and Richard of Ruston, La.; one sister, Marie Whitaker of Livingston, Texas; and four grandchildren, Lindsey, Devin and Zachary Davis, all of Ruston and Micah James Hardee of Hope. The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 18, at Unity Baptist Church of Hope, with Revs. Jake Vandenburg and Glenn Tropp officiating. The burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. The family received friends Sunday, Feb. 17, from 2-4 p.m. at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
