Railey is guiltyBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in the Nevada County Picayune Isaac Railey Jr., 45, entered a guilty plea in Nevada County Circuit Court Friday and was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Railey had been charged with the Aug. 2 murder of his ex-wife, Geneva Chatman. The charges included capital murder and robbery. Railey reportedly entered Chatmans home on Aug. 2, killed her and took items from the home. According to information from the Nevada County Sheriffs Office, Railey then turned himself in at the jail. Officers from the sheriffs office went to the scene and found Chatman was dead on the floor of her Martin Place apartment. Railey was facing charges for drug possession at the time of his arrest but had been released without bond. Prescott Police Officers and the Arkansas State Police headed up the investigation. According to information from Prescott Police Chief Brian Russell, RAiley pled guilty to one count of capital murder and one count of aggravated robbery, each resulting in life sentences. He also pled to one count of residential burglary, recieving a 20 year sentence for that charge. The capital murder charge against Railey carried a possible sentence of death.
