Ted Walker

Ted Walker, 69, died Jan. 28, 2008, in Arlington, Texas.

He was born to Lawrence and Mattie Carter Walker Jan. 3, 1939, in Bluff City. Ted married Glenda Florece Walker Jan. 30, 1958, in Rapid City, S.D. He served during Vietnam in the Air Force and retired in 1979. During his enlistment he received many medals, commendations and plaques. Following retirement he began working for Lockheed and retired in 2001.

Left behind to cherish his memory is wife Glenda Walker of Grand Prairie; daughters, Glenda Kerr and her husband Kevin of Grand Prairie and Vickie Foltz and her husband David of Prescott; one grandson, Christopher Massey of Grand Prairie; two brothers, Bob Walker of Gurdon and Bill Walker of Bluff City; and a special nephew Jerry Smith, who Ted and Glenda raised.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Milam and Mattie Mae Walker; three brothers; two sisters; and one nephew.

The funeral service was in Grand Prairie, Texas, at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy ODell officiating. Burial was at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home.

Homestead Funeral Home of Grand Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
