Billy Cottingham

Billy Ray Cottingham, 74, of Prescott, died Jan. 22, 2008, in Prescott.

He was born Feb. 7, 1934 in Prescott, to Floyd and Odel Cromwell Cottingham. He was a retired mason and a member of the First Baptist Church of Prescott. He was a great hunter and fisherman and love to garden. He was often seen plowing up gardens for his neighbor in the spring time.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jackie and Benny Cottingham.

His survivors include his wife of 56 years, Alice Sylvesta Cottingham of Prescott; four children, Pamela Smith and William of Bodcaw, Ronnie Cottingham and Cheryl of Texarkana, Jawana Kirkpatrick of Prescott, and Billy Cottingham and Rachael of Memphis, Tenn.; six sisters, Virginia Jerry, Marilyn Evans, Helen Jo Huskey and James, all of El Dorado, Ola Faye Lavender and Douglas of Little Rock and Sandra Still of North Little Rock; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Jackie Joyce Mason.

The funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. in Pharr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating. Interment followed at Midway Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 24, from 4-6 p.m. Services were under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott.
