Ann BookerPublished Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Ann Booker, 68, of Emmet, went to her new home in heaven on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, from her home. She was born on Feb. 25, 1939, in Arkadelphia to Charles Wright and Carolyn Wilder Couch. She was a teacher for more than 46 years in Emmet, being just three hours shy of her masters degree in education. She was a former Citizens National Bank/Bancorp South Employee of Hope; City of Emmet employee; and Nevada County 911 employee. She was a member, church treasurer and pianist of the First Baptist Church of Emmet. She began playing the piano at age 6. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, B&PW of Prescott and singer/soloist. She was preceded in death by her parents. She joins her parents in heaven and leaves to cherish, her husband of 46 = years, Dale Booker of Emmet; two daughters, Dana Burnett and Ron of Donaldson and Tonya Cox and Grant of Emmet; one brother, Wayne Couch of Antoine; one sister, Debbie Muse of Antoine; nine grandchildren, Chad Cox, Jody Cox, Cody Cox, Ty Moses, Laycon Moses, Dustin Burnett, Courtney Burnett, Brenna Thomas and Alana Moses; and numerous wonderful friends who loved her. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 at Gene Ross Gymnasium in Emmet with the Revs. Johnny Jackson and Frank Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. The family received friends Monday, Jan. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The online guest book is at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com.
