Cliffie EscarrePublished Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Cliffie Opaline Escarre, 95, of Prescott, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. She was born on Aug. 24, 1912, in Manilla, to William Henry and Laura Mae Rayder Heath. She was former owner/operator of Prescott Variety/Ben Franklin Store, home health aide and former administrator for Buchanan Nursing Home in Prescott, and dietician for Buchanan Nursing Home and Prescott Manor Nursing Home, both of Prescott. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Prescott, member of the choir, UMW, Sunday school teacher and youth group leader, Prescott Garden Club, scout leader, former president of the PTA and she had her own private nursery school/kindergarten. She was preceded in death by her husband, P.A. Escarre, and by one son, Joseph Heath Escarre. Her survivors include one son, Pete Escarre of Chidester; one daughter, Deloris Anita Kerr of Willis, Texas; one sister, Lottie Luttrell of Clermont, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Rebekah McCaffrey and Rona Kerr, both of Houston, Texas, Debbie Mathis of Bauxite, Tina Henderson of Delight, Joan Noles of Ozone, Pete A. Escarre III of Alexander, and Heath Reynolds of Houston, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service was at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott, with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. The burial was in DeAnn Cemetery. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. The family received friends Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 1-3 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
