Vernita HoPublished Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Vernita E. Ho, 89, of Bodcaw, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, in Pinehope Nursing Home in Hope. She was born in Bodcaw, on Nov. 24, 1918, to Charles Henry and Arbula Octavia Lee Carlton. She was a retired beautician. She was a 7th Day Adventist. She was preceded by three sons, Billy Buck and a set of infant twins; two brothers, John Henry and Charles Carlton; and one sister, Beatrice Pine. Her survivors include one daughter, Mary Lynn and Travis of Bodcaw; a special friend, William Bill Gwin of Bodcaw; two brothers, Harlan Carlton of Bodcaw and William Hugh Carlton of Houston, Texas; one sister, Marie Tye of Prescott; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. A memorial grave side service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29 at Union Cemetery in Bodcaw, with Rev. Joe Brown officiating. The burial followed.
