W.A. StewartPublished Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneW.A. Stewart, 76, of Prescott, died Dec. 12, 2007, in Prescott. He was a retired MSGT. in the US Air Force. He was born May 21, 1931, in Prescott, to Elmer E. and Eunice Mae Wilson Stewart. He served 20 years in the US Air Force, was a long time member, elder and deacon at the Prescott Church of Christ. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1949. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and son, William Arnold Stewart. His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Ann McSweeny Stewart of Prescott; one son, John and Lucy Stewart of Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Debbie and Bill Zartman of Brentwood, Tenn., Judy Arroyave of Baton Rouge, La. and Nancy Stevens of McKinney, Texas; one brother, Wallace Stewart of Hope; one sister, Barbara Nell Ayers of Grand Saline, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren and Doug Zartman, Clay and Jason Arroyave, and Joseph and Joshua Leal. The services were Monday, Dec. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Prescott Church of Christ. Interment was at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Services were under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home of Hope.
