Roxie Eckert

Roxie Lee Eckert, age 90,

passed away Friday, December

14, 2007, in the Malvern

Nursing Home. She was born

June 17, 1917, the daughter of

Lewis Rom and Bessie Bever

Brooks. She retired from the

Malvern Public Schools Food

Service, was a member of the

Emmanuel Baptist Church, and

recently, the Red Hat Society at

the nursing home. Above all,

she was a devoted preachers

wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by

her parents; husband, Elder Joe

C. Eckert, to whom she was

married on December 29, 1934

and preceded her in May of

1992; also by two brothers,

Horace and Melvin Brooks; and

sister, Gladys Sharp.

Survivors are her daughters

and sons-in-law, JoAnn Ondick

and Karl of Dayton, Ohio, Joy

Quick and James, Cathy Tanner

and Marshall, all of Malvern;

brother, Artie M. Brooks of

Turlock, California; sister,

Lavenia Johnson of Reno,

Nevada; grandchildren, Colin

Eckert Ondick of Fairborn,

Ohio, Cyndy Glover of

Woodlawn, Arkansas, Todd

Quick of Lufkin, Texas, Tony

Quick of Malvern, Josh Tanner

of Little Rock, Jenna Tanner of

Malvern; great-grandchildren,

Lauren Rambin, Kimberly

Glover, Blake Glover, Gunnar

Quick, Max Quick, Casey

Ondick, Joe Drewry; and

numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Sunday

December 16, from 2PM until

4PM at Regency.

Funeral will be 10:30 AM,

Monday, December 17, at

Emmanuel Baptist Church with

Brothers John Owen, Kevin

Spurlin, and Bernard Strother

officiating. Burial will be in

Oakridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers are James, Todd

and Tony Quick, Marshall and

Josh Tanner, Karl Ondick, Greg

Glover, and Colin Ondick, honorary.

Special Thanks to Dr. Ray

Bollen, and the Malvern

Dialysis Center Staff, Dr.

Robert McCrary, and the

Malvern Nursing Home Staff.

Memorials may be made to

Foundation.
