Lloyd Pop BradenPublished Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Lloyd Pop Braden, 78, of DeAnn, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at his home. He was born on Jan. 17, 1929, in Ozan, to William Jessie and Laura Augusta Webb Braden. His greatest love was his Savior and he spent his last day doing what he loved best. He was owner/operator of Pops Pilot Cars, formed in 1985, which gave him a great opportunity to spread the good news of Jesus all over this great country of ours. For 22 years he traveled, safely delivering truck drivers with oversize loads to places far and near. These loads were never too big or wide or tall for Pop. The more roads on a permit route the better. As he traveled millions of miles each year Jesus was his main concerns. On his last day went to Jonesboro. Where he left his last scripture on channel 19 for all to hear whether they liked it or not, John 14:1-4, Do not let your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Fathers house are many dwelling places, if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you. If I am there, you may be also. And you know the way where I am going. Jesus always keeps His promises and took him to his eternal dwelling place on the afternoon of Dec. 18, suddenly to us that loved him, but in Jesus perfect timing. Pops room in heaven was ready and it was time for him to go home. One minute raking leaves on earth, the next in the arms of his Savior. He continued his family owned business until his death. He was a member and humbly served as deacon of Guernsey Baptist Church having been ordained as a deacon on Fe. 17, 1988. He loved his church family and worked hard so the Lords message could continue. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a radar technician on the U.S.S. Matthews during the Korean War. He was finalized as a Mason, in Emmet, in 1961. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clemmie Bell Russell Braden and by two grandchildren, Stephanie Gayle Arnold and Dustin Miller Harris; and two brothers, Coy Lee Braden and James McIvin Braden.
