William Armstrong

William E. Armstrong, 74, of Chicago, Ill, died on Nov. 7, 2007. He was born on Jan. 8, 1933, in Blevins, Ark., the son of Louisa Helen Walters Armstrong and William Benjamin Armstrong. Billy was the second of four brothers, Anthony, Floyd and James. He was preceded in death by his parents and Anthony and James.

Billy graduated from Gurdon High School, where he excelled in basketball and track. He served our country in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara Brown, of Chicago.

Survivors include: his devoted wife, Barbara, brother Floyd, sisters-in-law Gwendolyn Armstrong, Mozella McKinney, Mary Ann Brown, Allene Brown, Lucille Williams, Norman Mouton, brothers-in-law, Edward and Willis Brown, nieces Kimberly and Barbara Ann, Aunt Janie Lee Hubbard, numerous godchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a huge host of close friends.

Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chicago by OBee - W. Jones Funeral Directors.
