Former Manager ChargedBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, March 3, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune A former local restaurant manager has been arrested, charged with theft of property and been scheduled for trial. According to court records, Terry Tomlin, 34, of Blevins, the former manager of the Prescott Pizza Hut, was charged with theft over $2,500, after discrepancies in the deposit records for the business were found by the corporation and the Nevada County Branch Bank of Delight. When the problem was found, Pizza Hut officials contacted the Prescott Police Department, with officer Kristi Neal starting the investigation. Soon, Scott Clark, criminal investigator with the Arkansas State Police, was brought in and Tomlin arrested. The investigation reportedly turned up documentation showing the process used to falsify deposit slips. Allegedly, Tomlin filled out deposit slips and filed them with Pizza Hut records, but no such corresponding slips could be found at the bank. According to records, deposit slips were found showing initials of bank tellers had been forged. The total amount of money missing as of Monday, Feb. 1, was $9,160.87. Tomlin is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Monday, May 10, with his trial scheduled to begin Monday, May 24. Theft of property over $2,500 is a class B felony carrying a potential sentence of no less than five years nor more than 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction and a fine not to exceed $15,000.
