Florence CorneliusPublished Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Florence Harris Cornelius, 80, of Prescott, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born on July 4, 1927, in Prescott, to Barney Harris Sr. and Mary Pittman Harris. She was a homemaker, excellent cook, seamstress, and loved to quilt. She was very involved in the familys cattle and row crop farming business. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ and later attended the Prescott Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cornelius, who died in 1992; and by one daughter, Vicky Sue Cornelius, who died in December of 1984; four brothers, Will Harris, Carter Harris, Ike Harris and Barney Harris; and one sister, Mae Graham. Her survivors include one son, James Roy Cornelius of Prescott; one daughter, Nancy Graham and Sammy of Mustang, Okla.; four grandchildren, Lindsy and Jamie Graham, both of Edmond, Okla., Clint Cornelius, and Sarah Graham of Mustang, Okla.; two sisters, Shelby Avery and Donald of Arkadelphia and Carolyn Cummings and Carlton of Sheridan; and three sisters-in-law, Pearl Payne of Prescott, Mary Ethel Harris of Prescott, and Marylee Harris of Gainesville, Flo. The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Mr. Harley Sisson and Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. The burial was in Nubbin Hill Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. The family received friends on Friday, Nov. 30, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. The online guest book is at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com.
