William GarnerPublished Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliam Huey Garner, 72, was born in Prescott, on Nov. 15, 1935 and passed away Nov. 19, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Nioma Garner and brother, L.D. Garner. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Fredericka; his daughter Ginny Mastandrea and Russell Dawson of Malvern; her children, Tim Mastandrea of Buffalo Grove, Ill. and Corey Sitzberger of Little Rock; his son, Russ Garner and his wife Brooke of Jonesboro; their children, Tyler and Ashlyn. By these grandchildren he was lovingly called Boompa. He is survived by brothers, Jerry Garner and his wife Nelda of Alexandria, La., Michael Garner and his wife Connie of North Little Rock, Mickey Patrick and wife Doris C. of Hope; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Garner of Prescott. A retired credit manager of fifty years, he enjoyed many outside activities, golfing, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spectator sports closely following his favorite teams, the Curley Wolves, Razorbacks and Chicago Bears. He especially enjoyed his morning routine of coffee with his buddies at Bakers. A lifelong Methodist, he was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Hillcrest Nursing Facility and Dr. Michael Young for their compassionate care. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Shackelford Funeral Home. The funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24 at Shackelford Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating.
