STATE TOURNAMENT

Published Wednesday, March 3, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Wolverettes have now reached the point of the year when a loss signals the end of the season.

To date, Prescott boasts a 27-3 overall record and could be the first team in Prescott High School history to post a 30-win season.

They opened the state tournament at Fountain Lake Tuesday against the Lady Redskins of Pocahontas.

A win puts the Wolverettes in the second round, which will be played at 4 p.m. Friday, while a loss sends them to softball season.

Win No. 30 could come in the semifinals Saturday at 7 p.m., while a shot at the state class AAA title would occur Saturday, March 13 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
