Mr. James Osborn

Mr. James M. Osborn, 78, of Emmet, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at his home.

He was born in Hempstead County on July 19, 1929 to Clyde and Lydia Simms Osborn. He was a retired supervisor with Amoco Oil Refinery, Whiting, Ind. For 37 = years of service, constable of Nevada County Township, for over 10 years; he had been in law enforcement for nealy fifty years and an auxiliary deputy for Nevada County for 15 years. He was a member of the Emmet United Methodist Church of Emmet, where he served as Chairman of Administrative Board, a trustee and an usher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June E. Osborn, who died April 2, 2002.

His survivors include fours sons, James M. Jimmy Osborn Jr. of Whiting, Ind., Reginald Lee Reggie Osborn of Hobart, Ind., Donald Clyde Donnie Osborn of Michigan City, Ind., and Ted Randal Osborn of Westville, Ind.; two sisters, Frances O. Hazzard of Houston, Texas and Martha Ann Pyle of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one niece and four nephews.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. The burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

The family received friends on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
