Ann FosterPublished Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneAnn Foster of Prescott, went home to be with her heavenly Father, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007. She is at peace after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Barry; her brother, Jim Barry and one precious grandchild, Michael Poff. She is survived by her husband, Ted Foster of Prescott, who was her best friend and high school sweetheart. Ann and Ted were blessed with 54 years of marriage. Nonnie is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three children, Faith Beavert and husband Danny of Prescott; Kim Poff and husband Mike of Smackover, and Sonja Lindsey and husband Marvin of Magnolia; six grandchildren she adored, Chris Beavert and wife Haley of Magnolia, Melissa Beavert of Benton, Ben Lindsey of Columbia, Mo., Miki Lindsey of Magnolia, Emily Poff of Magnolia, and Sarah Poff of Smackover; two cherished great-grandchildren, Cortlyn and Mary Keaton Beavert of Magnolia; her brother, Bob Barry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and by many family members and dear friends. Ann was a former homemaker, librarian, substitute teacher, and owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics and Gifts. She and Ted were owners of the Western Auto Store in Prescott for 25 years where many friendships were formed. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Prescott. Her special gift was service and she was especially happy doing just that, serving, which many of her friends would attest to. She was involved in the United Methodist Women, delivering meals for the Share Group, Soul Food Bible Study, Prayer Partners, Administrative Council, Chairperson Memorial Committee, Upper Room Prayer Center, Rose Garden Club, and the Nevada County Cancer Support Group. All family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of life service for Ann Foster at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Prescott. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Nevada County Cancer Foundation in Prescott, Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado, the First United Methodist Church in Prescott, or to the charity of your choice.
