Vera Cross

Mrs. Vera May Green Cross, 77, of Prescott, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at her home.

She was born on December 21, 1929, in Nevada County, to William J. and Esther Hicks Green. She was a homemaker and a mother. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Cross, who died Feb. 18, 2006; by one brother, Sam Green; one sister, Mary D. Green; and one grandson, Paul Richard Jackson.

Her survivors include two sons, Billy R. Cross and Paul Ronald Cross, both of Prescott; one daughter, Linda Bennett of Prescott; three brothers, Ervin Green of Cali., Joe Chink Green of Doddridge and Earl Francis Green of Camden; four sisters, Vivian Sis Ammons of Prescott, Norma Jean Jarvis and Patsy Richardson, both of Camden, and Margie Atkins of Prescott; five grandchildren, Alisha and Jeremy Fielding of Prescott, Patty Cole of Prescott, David Jackson of Little Rock, and Tim Jackson of Malvern; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Mike Steed officiating. The burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

The family received friends on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. The online guest book is at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com.
