Virginia Gilmore

Virginia Lee Gilmore passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007.

She was born in Little Rock, on Jan. 30, 1928, the daughter of Joe and Lottie Lee. She attended University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and was president of Delta Delta Delta Sorority in 1948. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, was active in the community and most recently a volunteer at St. Vincents Hospital for more than 15 years. She was involved in Welcome Wagon and was an avid bridge player.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack V. Gilmore.

She is survived by her daughter Lee Jones and husband, Everett of Prescott; their children, Ben Jones and his wife Brandi, Traci Rucker and her husband Todd; son, Mark Gilmore and his wife Eve of Bells, Texas; their children Jaclyn and Joseph Gilmore; son, John Gilmore and wife Annette Mendoza of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother, Joe Lee and wife Norma of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Beth Glancy and husband Tom; brother-in-law, Eddie Kane, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, Nov. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott.

Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 West 12th, Little Rock. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincents CARTI. To sign the online guest book, please visit www.griffinleggett.com.
