Coming off a 41-8 win against the Piggot Mohawks, Prescott Curley Wolves are asking for community support for the coming game.

According to Prescott Head Coach Greg Smith, the Wolves will play Nov. 16 against Atkins. The game has been set aside as a play-off reunion game. Smith said the idea is to have all former Curley Wolves who were involved with the team during a play-off season to take the field prior to kick-off.

Its very intimidating for an opponent to come here and we have a hundred people standing on our field, Smith said. Its our tradition.

Smith said all former players are asked to sign in at the east gate of Cummins Stadium prior to the game. Name and year of the play-off in which they participated are all thats required. Smith said this play-off reunion is an opportunity to recognize those former Curley Wolves but will also be a chance for former players to show their support for the current team.

The Nov. 9 win put Prescott in the second round of the play-offs. Prescott now faces Atkins and Smith said that team has a tailback to be watched.

He is supposed to be one of the best in the state, Smith said.

He said the player is versatile. With that in mind, the Wolves are focusing this week on how to combat that threat.

Its going to be a hard-fought battle, Smith said. I believe our tradition and our fans will carry us through the game.

Smith said one thing that is constantly on his mind is that the Wolves are a young team. He pointed out that several key positions - including quarterback - are held by juniors.

Smith said that he put the Wolves in positions last week that were designed to create pressure with the hope that it would help prepare the team for the pressure theyre likely to feel for the remainder of the season. He said its working and the team is beginning to become a cohesive unit.

Its definitely play-off fever, he said.

The Wolves could be forced to travel on Nov. 23 and Smith said he hopes that the fans will continue to support the team.
