Nellie Callicott

Mrs. Nellie Hicks Callicott, 84, of McCaskill, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1923, to Monroe and Effie Green Hicks. She was a homemaker, a preachers wife, a member of Friendship United Methodist Church of McCaskill, U.M.W. group and U.M.W. guild, M.Y.F. Leader, a member of the Garden Club and a former Eastern Star member in Lockesburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.R. Pete Callicott, who died Aug. 28, 2005, and by four brothers, Bobby, Larry, Hilton and Leo Hicks.

Her survivors include one daughter, Barbara Barber and Jerald of McCaskill; two brothers, Rev. Raymond Hicks of Caney and Adron Dobber Hicks of Waterloo; three sisters, Inez Callicott of Caney, Elsie Picky Kale of McCaskill, and Bonnie Haynes of Prescott; three grandchildren, Tonya Boydstun of Mena, Cindy Heagwood of McCaskill and Steven Petey Barber of Liberty Eylau, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Dr. Tandy Hanson and Rev. Gene Ross officiating. Burial was in the Caney Cemetery in Caney. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

The family received friends Sunday, Oct. 28, from 2-4 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
