Paula EdwardsPublished Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Gurdon TimesPaula Jan Edwards, 56, a resident of Dover, died Thursday, October 11, 2007, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock. She was born November 16, 1950, at Shreveport, La., to Billy Bob and Glenda Bolt Reynolds. Paula was retired after 29 years as an elementary school teacher at the Dardanelle Primary School, Gurdon, Helena-West Helena and Barton Elementary Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dover and the Gideons International Auxiliary. She loved her grandchildren and her time spent with them. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Bob Reynolds. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, John Edwards of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Meredith Edwards of Springdale; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Brent Peoples of Rudy; her mother and step-father, Glenda and Farrel Nelson of Bluff City; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy Jack and Kathy Reynolds of Kentucky; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail and Rusty Pendleton of Altamont Springs, Florida, and Cindy and Donnie Innis of Shreveport, Louisiana; four step-sisters, Shelley Dixon of Puerto Rico, Connie Wells of Gurdon, Doris Wright of Arkadelphia, and Laurie Pilgreen of Bluff City; four grandchildren, Landon, Christen, Brenna, and John Stephen Peoples, all of Rudy; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at the First Baptist Church at Dover with the Rev. Jeff Paxton officiating. Burial was held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the South Fork Cemetery at Gurdon under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Pallbearers were Chuck Hayward, Danny Minks, Tom Hill, Donnie Elliott, Jerry Hankins, and Clark Sellers. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home.
