Maxine BurtonPublished Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMs. Maxine Burton, 87, of Buckner, died Oct. 1, 2007, in St. Michaels Health System. She was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Falcon to Profit Dismuke and Atta Hall-Dismuke. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as usher president. She also worked as a child profider at Kiddie Kollege in Stamps until she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Burton Sr. and two brothers, Virgil and Curtis Dismuke. She is survived by seven children; one godchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. The funeral service was Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m., at New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon. The burial was in the church cemetery.
