Billy Bo Dodson

Mr. Billy Lamar Bo Dodson, Little Ding-A-Ling on his C.B., 63, of Hope, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at his home.

He was born on April 6, 1944, in Magnolia, to Doyle D. and Eunice Edna Dodson. He was a retired truck driver, rodeo clown and a cowboy. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend to many. He worked on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, was a retired volunteer fireman with the Nevada County Rescue and a Skywarn Storm Spotter. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one grandson, Stephen Odea Speakman.

His survivors include his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Ruth Lavender Dodson of Hope; two daughters, Billie Lucinda Cindy Dodson Speakman of Milam, Texas, and Ruth Ann Dodson Bickerstaff of Hope; two special sons, Ivan Odea Speakman of Milam, Texas, and George Raliegh Bickerstaff of Hope; two brothers, Kenneth E. Dodson and Jenny of Magnolia and Rodney D. Dodson and Barbara of McNeil; one sister, Ferrell F. Dodson Hero and Albert of Chipley, Fla.; two grandchildren, Lucinda Lynn Speakman of Milam, Texas, and Micah McMillan of Hope; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, with Rev. Ron Riemer and Elder Deborah Dodson officiating. The burial was in Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

The family received friends on Friday, Sept. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
