Betty Sue HowellPublished Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Betty Sue Hopson Howell, 66, of Cerritos, Calif., formerly of Prescott, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at her home in Calif. She was born on March 19, 1941, in Prescott, to the late Rev. Oscar and Ola Flemons Hopson. She graduated from McRae High School in 1959 and attended Los Angeles City College. She retired from Shumann Manufacturing Company. She joined the Paradise Baptist Church in Los Angeles, Calif. She married Cleodis Howell, Dec. 25, 1973. Her survivors include her husband of 33 years, Cleodis Howell of Cerritos, Calif.; one son, Michael Howell of Santa Monica, Calif.; one daughter, Deborah Charles and Emanuel of Prescott; one step-daughter, Regina Foster and Carlos of Grand Prairie, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Joseph of Pine Bluff, Brandon Charles of Prescott, Taaja, Taelear, and Thailer Foster, all of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Mary Gulley and Earder and Wanda Jones, all of Prescott; two aunts, Orene and Vira Lea Flemons, both of Prescott.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, at Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Fred Walters officiating. The burial as in Laneburg Cemetery in Laneburg.
