Thirty-five juniors and seniors at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia have been accepted as new members to Alpha Chi, the national college honor scholarship society.

The initiates, elected by faculty review, represent the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes in each of the university's four schools. These students reflect not only high scholarship, but also good reputation and character.

Students selected to Alpha Chi include the following:

From Willisville, Laurie Herring and Lindsay Walthall, both junior chemistry majors;

From Prescott, Katie Gordon, a senior accounting major;

From Rosston, Allison Young, a senior English education major; and

From Hope, Judy Roberts, a senior business administration-finance major.
