Vener ManningPublished Wednesday, August 29, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneVener Manning, 83, of Camden, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at the Ouachita County Medical Center. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1972, a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church Quilters, and Woodmen of the World. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Mack Manning; parents, Joe L. and Vonie Jackson Maritn; and brother, Ray Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Berryhill and husband, Wayne of Queen City, Texas, and Barbara Butcher Shelton of Longview, Texas; one brother, Bobby Martin and wife, Joyce of Prescott; sisters, Dorothy Stevens and husband, Raymond of Camden, and Nell Larsen and husband, Homer of Genoa; sister-in-law, Verna Martin of Prescott; and four grandchildren, Michele Mixon and husband Robert of Gladewater, Texas, Mack Butcher and wife Denise of Waskom, Texas, Dennis Berryhill and wife Joy of Atlanta, Texas, and Melissa Berryhill of Texarkana, Texas. The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at Immanuel Baptist Church, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Fordyce. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Revs. John Burleson and James Ray Raines officiated the service. Proctor Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
